She came to us in a very serious condition with burns from power lines. Sadly, electricity pylons and unsecured glazed surfaces are among the most frequent causes of severe bird injuries — and of a stay with us at the centre.
Athos the kestrel arrived together with two other injured kestrels, and because all three fought their fate so bravely, we named them after famous characters from fiction – Athos, Porthos and Aramis. Today only the two musketeers Athos and Porthos remain at the centre.
