Description
After a few months his irresponsible finders discovered that a wild animal is not suited to a flat, and threw him out. But the fox was already tame and could not look after himself. He kept his hunger at bay at a farm in Počernice, where he went to help himself to dog kibble. Our Prague Wildlife Rescue Centre caught the fox and placed him in the zoo corner, where he has lived since 2019. Rebarbora likes climbing trees and watching what is going on from above.
Trojnožka the fox was brought to us in a cardboard box by a woman who found him in a barn in Velká Chuchle and did not know what to do with him. He came to us in May 2021 as a cub of roughly four weeks. As the name we gave him suggests (“three-legs”), part of one leg is missing. It was probably snipped off by a rat trap. The small injured fox cub grew into a big, independent boy, though. Thanks to veterinary care the injured leg healed well, and the fox sometimes uses the stump as a leg and leans on it normally. For running, however, he mainly uses the remaining three. He is cheerful and inquisitive, and settled in with us quickly. He likes chicks and mice, likes to play, runs around the aviary testing his limits and romps about like a puppy.
