Lady Amherst’s pheasant – Ludvík, common pheasant – Leontýnka

Description

In 2019 he strayed from his original home all the way to a yard in Dobřichovice, where he took a liking to the local hens. There was plenty of good food in the yard as well, so he decided to stay. The local cockerel was not at all pleased about it, but the owners of the house decided to keep Ludvík for the time being, until an owner turned up. Two more months went by and it still proved impossible to find out where Ludvík had come from. The local cockerel grew more and more nervous about the situation and his quarrels with Ludvík were dangerously escalating. In the end the owners brought Ludvík to us, because life in the henhouse had become impossible. So that Ludvík would not miss company, we found him Leontýnka, a female common pheasant. The vet who looks after our animals brought her from a pheasantry where she was carrying out parasite research at the time. Ludvík thus gained a new home and a friend, and the cockerel from Dobřichovice got peace in his henhouse.
